This teacher’s name is Victoria. She is the subject for the educational & water portion of the documentary “The New Sudan”. By documenting her daily activities, Nadus learned of the great educational needs that are engulfing Southern Sudan.
“A young girl has a better chance of dying during childbirth than she does completing primary school.”
Nadus holds in its possession over 100+ color drawings that children worked on during the 2007 trip. The children were asked to draw their memories of Southern Sudan’s past on one side, and the vision for Southern Sudan’s future on the other side.
“67% of schools are without access to health facilities.”
This teachers name is Lakia. She is one of the education & medical subjects for the documentary “The New Sudan”. Daily, she instructs a class of 50+ in extremely poor conditions. Lakia, who is 6 months pregnant, is poorly trained in teaching academic classes. She is among the many school teachers who lack the education to pass on to the future of Sudan.
